ingredients:

  • italian sausage
  • broccoli
  • medium pasta shells (or other pasta)
  • basil pesto
  • salt
  • olive oil
  • pepper
  • red crushed pepper flakes

  1. Begin boiling water for the pasta. You can add olive oil and salt to taste.

  2. As the water is boiling you can begin breaking apart the broccoli heads to use for later.

  3. Once the water is boiling add your pasta.

  4. As the pasta boils you can prepare the italian sausage by either rolling small balls or just breaking it up in to a sort of ground sausage.

  5. Pour the broccoli into a pan (you can add olive oil to it) and a little bit of water. Cover the pan with a lid. Once you see the broccoli darkening you are done.

  6. By this time the Pasta should be done. Take a half cup of the pasta water. Drain the pasta and pour back into the pot used for boiling. You can add the half cup of water now.

  7. You can pour your container of basil pesto into the pasta pot and start mixing. Once satisfied pout in the broccoli and start mixing.

  8. In a pan pour a small amount of olive oil, add your prepared sausage and cover the pan with a lid. You are done once the sausage is browned.

  9. Now you can mix in the sausage into the pot and season with pepper and red crushed peppers.
